Favourite Winter Thing Tag

Hi Divas

This week I want to take a break from the reviews and do a fun tag. Winter is almost coming to a close in the Southern Hemisphere. I am really glad that Summer is approaching again because Cape Town has been particularly cold these last three months. I am so looking forward to the warm sunshine days, lazing around on the beach and wearing my pretty bright dresses again. What I will miss about Winter time is not worrying about whether I look fat in an outfit or not. In Winter you can wear heavy coats and big slouchy jerseys to cover up the extra bulges on the body. Lol, that is my favourite thing about Winter. I think this tag is done. Hehehe, just joking. I will be doing a random Winter tag in this post. Hope you all enjoy reading and learning a little more about me. You can answer some of the questions in the comment section below too.

Questions:

1. Do you like winter?
No. I am a Summer baby. I don't like getting cold.

2. What is your fave fashion accessory for the winter season?
I love wearing different coloured scarves and textures. It really brightens up an outfit and changes the look.

3. What is your fave winter activity?
Reading and drinking tea/coffee in my bed.

4. What is your fave winter scent?
I adore the Guerlain scent La Petite Robe Noire. It is a beautiful sweet and fruity scent that is very warm and inviting. I love the cute bottle packaging too. It is fit for a diva! ;-)

5. What is your fave winter drink?
Anything with coffee in it. I love drinking decadent lattes and Mocha cafes. Yum!

6. What is your fave winter lip colour?
I like a dark smouldering lip. Be it a dark purple, red or plum shades. My favourites are Gemma by Stila, Rapture by Urban Decay, Shanghai Express by Nars and Cinnamon Spice by Wet n' Wild.

7. What is your fave Winter holiday movie?
I don't really have an absolute favourite Winter movie, but I do enjoy watching The Holiday and The Secret Garden with a big bowl of popcorn and my warm oversized blanket.

8. What is your fave winter blush?
Too Faced Sweethearts blush in Peach Beach is my favourite. It gives a beautiful peach and bronzy glow in the winter time. It really warms up the face.

9. What is your fave winter holiday treat?
My bed! I rarely go away on holiday during the Winter months. I prefer being cozy in my bed.

10.What is your fave nail colour/polish for the winter season?
I don't have a favourite Winter nail polish as I wear all my bright colours all year round. I enjoyed my leopard print manicure that I did a while back. It is dark and vampy, yet still fun to wear. I want to recreate that manicure again. It is great for Winter time.

I really hope you enjoyed this tag
Much love!

10 Things That Made Me Happy in April (2015)

Hi Divas!!!

Oh my gosh ladies, I can't believe that we are almost half way through the year. It is May already... Shut the front door! April was a lovely month for me. It was filled with adventures, happy moments and over all good vibes. I haven't done a ''10 Things that made me happy'' post in a while so I thought I would do one for the month of April. I hope you enjoy reading and don't forget to share below what made you smile or what were your happy moments for the month of April.

Follow me on instagram @divadesle ;-)

1. Easter Time: I love Easter because I get to spend quality time with my family and indulge on yummy chocolates without feeling guilty about it. Big YAY for pigging out on chocolate!

2. Switching up a Summer and Winter wardrobe: In Cape Town April is always an unpredictable month when it comes to weather patterns. One day you wearing mini shorts and the next day you all wrapped up in a warm scarf and putting on your leather boots. I have really been enjoying wearing four different seasons of clothes in one week.

3. Catching up with University Friends: As you get older you slowly start to lose touch with your high school and university friends, due to the business of life and sometimes being in a different town or country to them. One of my good friends was busy preparing to leave for London, so we decided to have a get together in Stellenbosch, at the university where we studied together. We had so much fun laughing, chatting and being crazy. We also had way too many cocktails and tapas. It was all good though. I could let loose, because I wasn't driving. Lol ;-)

4. Enjoying Bath and Body Works Candles: Thanks to the increase in Loadshedding these days I have turned the dreadful mass electricity blackouts into a sweet smelling and calming time for me. This is my first time using these candles and I am in love! I will definitely do a full review of them on my blog. For my international readers who have no idea what Loadshedding is, I give you three words: THIRD WORLD PROBLEMS!

5. Reading a Good Book: I haven't finished a good book in a while because I have been travelling a lot and didn't have the time to read. This month I finished two books which I am absolutely delighted about. Both books were completely different in genre but I enjoyed them equally. There is something about finishing a good book that just delights my heart.

6. My Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette: I know I have mentioned this probably a 1000 times before but I am absolutely in love with my Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I swear, it's the only eyeshadow palette I use on a daily basis. The colours and textures of these eyeshadows are just too beautiful. Everyday that I wear it, it makes me feel pretty and happy. I really need to do a review of this too.

7. Korean Cosmetics: Thanks to my lovely friend Nicole, I have become hooked on Korean makeup and skincare. She sent me a box a long time ago filled with Korean products and I swear I can't get enough. I have a haul and some products I want to review for you on the blog later in the year, I am busy building up my stash. The one thing that really attracts me to Korean Cosmetics are their irresistible packaging. It is so kawaii and pretty.

8. Manicure Fun: To carry on with my Korean Cosmetics obsession, I am loving the Korean brand Etude House Play Nail polishes. I have been playing around with different colours and designs. The colours are sweet pastel shades and the formula is very opaque. I love placing flower designs over my manicures for a pretty kawaii look.

9. Dancing in a Duck Costume: Hahaha, yes you read right! During the Easter Holidays one of the companies I work for, staged the Ugly Duckling show for kiddies to enjoy during the holiday period. And guess who was casted as the Ugly Duckling? Yip, Me! I had to sing and dance with a big orange beak mask on my face and covered in a feather costume which shed everywhere even in my mouth. It made me laugh so much, because how many people can say they dance in duck costumes for a living? Lol for days!!! ;-D

10. Feeling Like a Kid Again: My absolute favourite part of April was feeling like a kid again at Ratanga Junction. I recently enjoyed a day at the theme park, riding the deathly roller coasters (including the infamous Cobra ride), sliding down water tubes, swinging in mid air on the slingshot ride and screaming my lungs out on the Monkey Falls and landing in a splash of water all drenched, as seen in the photo above. The last time I was at Ratanga was more than 10 years ago. It was really great to have an adventurous day of pure fun.

Have a fabulous week Divas!
Lots of love.

Diva Autumn Fashion Haul

Diva Autumn Fashion Haul

Hi beautiful ladies!

So this past week in South Africa Autumn has shown its pretty face. The nights are getting colder, the wind is becoming chillier and the sky has been filled with grey puffy clouds. Cape Town especially has been chilly these past few days. With that being said, it is now in with the winter wardrobe and out with the summer one. I am a summer baby, so I always feel reluctant to let go of my pretty summer dresses and bright tops. A big bonus though when it comes to a change of season is that it's a great excuse to go clothes shopping. Big yay! So I trekked to the mall this past week to see what was in store. Boots, scarves and colourful leggings were all out on display in the shop windows. I found some really great winter pieces and ended up with a big fashion haul to spruce up my autumn/winter wardrobe.

Now, I don't pretend to be a fashion blogger guru and I am definitely not one to follow trends for the sake of being trendy. I love to buy fashion pieces that look interesting, timeless and chic to me. I use fashion as just another way of expressing my personality. I love to dress up. You will never see me leaving the house in old sweat pants and a ragged t- shirt. I think it stems from my granny and watching her dress up when I was very young. My granny never left the house without looking 'together'. Whether it was a little bit of red lipstick, shiny shoes or a bold hat, my granny always looked her best when she left the house. I think she passed that characteristic on to my mom, my sister and me. We just can't leave the house without looking semi decent and with a little bit of lipstick on the lips. Hell, I even dress up when I'm just going to the post office! Ssh, let's keep this secret between us. *wink* ;-)

So I thought I would do a little look post on the blog to show you what I got and get you excited for Autumn/ Winter fashion. It's been a really long time since I did a fashion post and o.o.t.d on the blog. Hope you enjoy this one....

What I'm wearing:

-Leopard print top from Mr Price

-Black leggings from Pick n' Pay Clothing Store

- Black pixie boots from Woolworths

- Polka dot scarf from the Old Biscuit Mill market

- Star necklace from Mr Price

What's on my face:

- Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

-Naked 2 Palette

-Guerlain bronzer in Terracotta 00

-Clarins Instant Definition Mascara

- Maybelline Sensational Vivids Vibrant Mandarin lipstick and Stila lip glaze in Melon

Nails:

-Revlon nail varnish in Sparkle Aplenty

These are just some of the items I purchased these past weeks.. Let me know what interesting fashion trends you are loving or have bought recently. Wishing you a beautiful week.

Divalicious kisses.

My Top 10 Beauty Secrets

My Top 10 Beauty Secrets

Happy Monday Ladies!

I thought I would do a fun post this week to take a break from all the reviews I have been doing lately. Hope you enjoy reading all about my top 10 beauty secrets. :-)

Don't forget to follow me on Instagram @divadesle if you want to see my travel pictures:-)

Here it goes....

1. What is one product that makes you feel like a million dollars?

Lipstick and more lipstick. Lipstick always makes me feel beautiful and confident. I never leave the house without having something on my lips. Whether it is lip gloss, tinted lip balm or lipstick. When I used to drive to work at 04:30 in the morning, I would put on my boldest and brightest lipstick to make me feel awake and pretty. Even though I looked like crap. Lol

2. What is your skincare secret? / A passed down skin care tip?

I don't think I have a skin care secret. I am very simple when it comes to my skin care routine. I don't like to bombard my face with too many products. For me the most important skin care tip is to cleanse your face daily. Always wash all your makeup off before you go to bed. Even if you didn't have a very eventful day, make sure to cleanse your face at least once a day to get rid of excess oils and dirt that may clog your pores and cause breakouts.

3. Share your hair care secret?

Hair masks are my secret weapon. I cannot live without a deep hydrating hair mask. My ends tend to get dry very quickly so I like to pamper my hair with a hair mask treatment once a week. The instructions on the mask usually say to leave the product in for 2 to 5 minutes. I like to leave the mask on my hair for 15 minutes and more just to make sure the product soaks deeply into my tresses.

4. What is your biggest diet rule?

I don't diet. I eat what I want to eat but in moderation. I do eat healthy though but I don't deprive myself of ice cream or chocolate cake if I am craving it. I want to live a happy balanced life. That means that carrot sticks and thick strawberry milkshakes are both on my menu. So in my rule book, I would say keep your portions small and eat what you want.

5. Any workout tips?

Gosh, I haven't exercised in weeks. Sigh! I blame it on my hectic travel schedule. I would say, always eat a banana or yoghurt before you exercise to keep your blood sugar levels stable.

6. Which perfume is your secret weapon?

It would definitely be the Eau de Toilette Le Parfum perfume by Ellie Saab. I went for a personal consultation with the renowned international perfume designer Danny Ventura last year. Together we found out that my perfect scent that suits my personality and taste is Ellie Saab Le Parfum Eau de Toilette. My mom actually gave me this perfume for Christmas last year. So if I ever go on a hot date I will definitely wear that one! :-)))

7. What clothing item of yours always turns heads?
I don't have one specific clothing item. I would say all my pretty dresses turn heads. I am obsessed with buying dresses. It is one of my favourite things.I always feel beautiful in a dress and I have received many compliments when I wear them.

8. What is your most treasured piece of jewellery?

It is a beautiful silver watch which I got for Christmas from my mom. The watch is more than 10 years old and I love it dearly.

9. Who is your style crush?

I think it is a mixture between Beyonce and Lily Aldridge. They are my favourite style icons. They always look amazing and stylish in whatever they wear. Beyonce is all diva glam and Lily Aldridge makes a statement in glam rock. I love to mix both those styles when I am dressing up.

10. Tell us something we don’t know about you...

Where do I start? Lol! My one secret that is completely beauty unrelated is that I have never touched snow. It is on my bucket list! When my sister lived in Norway she would send pictures of herself skiing in the mountains and my heart would long to be with her. Aah, one day my dream will come true and I shall ski in the snowy mountains with her. :-)

Thanks for reading ladies. Feel free to share any beauty secrets you might have, with me below!

Summer Favourites 2014

Summer Favourites 2014

Hi divas!

Here in the Southern Hemisphere summer is almost going out the door. I have had a great summer in my home town, Cape Town. My favourite things to do is obviously going to the beach, shopping and enjoying festive season activities at the V&A Waterfront Mall and harbour and hot summer night parties in Long street. There are some beauty products that I have really enjoyed this summer and have been using them religiously. So I thought I would share my summer favourites for 2014 with you:

1. Clarins 50+ Sun Wrinkle Control Cream For Face:

I did a review on this cream last week. You can read it here. The cream is a real miracle worker for me this season. It protected my skin from sun burn with its high 50+ SPF and it is the perfect moisturiser to use when applying makeup in smelting hot days.

2. The Body Shop Shower Gel in Vanilla Bliss:

I adore all things vanilla. It is my favourite scent. This vanilla body wash is milky in texture and is perfect to use after a long hot day in the sun. The shower gel is very luxurious and soothes tired skin. I feel pampered and relaxed after I use it.

3. The Body Shop body butter in Mango:

I am not a big fan of the actual Mango fruit but this body butter smells so amazing it actually makes me want to drink a mango smoothie. The scent reminds me of a tropical island; sweet, fruity and exotic. The body butter is light and moisturises my skin perfectly.

4. John Frieda Frizz-Ease Conditioner:

I hate blow drying my hair in hot weather. I prefer to leave my hair naturally curly and rock some beach waves. I like to use the John Frieda Conditioner for curly hair as it moisturises my curls without weighing it down. My hair looks bouncy and curly without the horrible frizz.

5. Stila Set Illuminate Baked Powder Trio:

I love all things Stila and this is actually my favourite Stila product ever. The powder gives me a beautiful summer kissed glow. I love to add it on the apple of my cheeks to illuminate and accentuate my cheekbones... because I really don't have cheek bones. Lol

6. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Sorbet:

Ooh ladies, this lip butter rocks my socks! This colour just screams Desle. It is a bright hot pink which resembles a watermelon shade. I love wearing it on summer nights when I go out for drinks with friends. It is a shade for someone who loves to be noticed in a crowd.... Uhmm, that's me! :-)

7. Nails Inc in Marylebone Lane:

The red glitter nail polish reminds me of Christmas and festive parties. If you want to add loads of glitter to your outfit in a classy way this nail polish would be perfect for you.

8. Rimmel Salon Pro in Brit Pop:

I reviewed this awesome blue colour nail polish last week over here. I am absolutely in love with this fun colour. It definitely turns heads when I wear it. It is so bold and bright which is perfect for summer

9. Pretty Bows:

Bows are the prettiest accessories to add a girly vintage charm to any outfit. Wear it in your hair, pin it to your clothes or your bag for a cute and whimsical look. My studded black bow is from Mr Price.

10. H&M Arm Candy:

I bought these beautiful bracelets in Qatar and have been wearing them with all my watches. I love that it can be worn with any outfit. I like to mix and match accessories for different playful looks.

11. Burberry Summer Perfume:
This scent is so beautiful it literally gives me a high when I spray it. I have received many compliments when I wear this gorgeous perfume. It has notes of lily of the valley, freesias and rose. It is a citrusy scent which has hints of pomegranates and mandarin orange. And it's Pink! Hello!

Hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know what your favourite summer essentials are below.

Lots of Divalicious kisses.
