The Girl Of Now Shine perfume from Elie Saab was released way back in 2018 and I have been wanting it ever since. I am not one to purchase fragrances on a regular basis as they are extreme luxury items for me. I literally saved up for this one and finally made the splurge at a Sephora in Doha. This is the second version of the Girl of Now range, as the first perfume was a little too deep in tone for me and did not sit well on my skin. This updated bottle is lighter and sweeter in scent which appeals to a more youthful audience. Back in 2013, I met an international fragrance creator for designer brands, named Danny Ventura. He did a personal skin, personality and scent test on me and discovered that my body chemistry works really well with sweet, spicy and fruity fragrances. He also told me that Elie Saab is one of the best brands to wear as it compliments my overall essence. Ever since that consultation, I have been an avid fan of the brand as I find that most of their fragrances enhance my natural scent. I am therefore very pleased with my purchase and will share my overall experience of the perfume with you.


  The fragrance is said to represent the radiant spirit of a girl. With the top notes of Orange Blossom, Pear and Pineapple, a radiant fruity and summer essence exudes through. The Middle notes contain Almond and White Flowers while the base notes consist of Patchouli and Vanilla which give the scent a soft sweet feminine appeal. For me, the fragrance has a beautiful warm sweet aroma. It reminds me a lot of a Summer night. There are many layers to this scent such as sweet, mixed with fruity and a hint of deep nutty spice. This Eau de Parfum has great depth and does not feel generic or predictable at all. Throughout the day different notes tend to rise up from the skin. It gives a wonderful surprise when you catch a whiff of it at times. The fragrance is feminine and light as a spirit of a girl but not too sweet or childish. It is very elegant, sophisticated with a hint of playfulness.


The perfume sprays out really strongly on the skin at first. You get a powerful whiff of Orange Blossom and Patchouli at once. As the fragrance dries down and settles into the skin, it becomes much sweeter and lighter in tone. You have the Vanilla, Almond and White Flowers coming through. The aroma gets softer and softer throughout the day. It lasts up to six hours before you need to reapply for a night out. The fragrance wears well on clothes, and I find that the smell lasts really long on fabrics. Girl of Now Shine can be worn day or night and at any occasion. For me this is a Summer perfume as it reminds me of warm outdoor nights. You might feel differently when it mixes with your skin. The scent has great longevity but it is not overpowering or overbearing to wear throughout the day.



The packaging of the fragrance from the outer box to the bottle is absolutely stunning. I love the light, whimsical and feminine look it exudes. The overall design is meant to emulate the gorgeous flowing fairy tale gowns which Elie Saab creates. The gold flowers on the box as well as the gold petals on the bottle radiates the charming and graceful quality of the scent. I adore the attention to detail from the gold cap with an 'S' embossed on it to the base of the bottle and its pleated design. The fragrance captured the flowing haute couture dresses wonderfully. The bottle is made of sturdy glass and has a substantial weight in the hand. The accents of the gold rose petals are well made and everything feels luxe and elegant. There is nothing cheap or gaudy about the overall packaging at all. When you feel the bottle in your hand and look at it on your vanity you can have the assurance that it is money well spent.



Overall, I love the way this Elie Saab scent mixes with the natural chemistry of my skin. I feel uplifted and pretty whenever I wear it. It makes me feel elegant, feminine and vivacious. The enchanting touch of the gold petals on the bottle makes this fragrance stand out from the rest. If you love sweet, fruity and spicy scents, then do give this one a thought. You might be surprised by its wonderful attributes.

It has been a wonderful Summer in Cape Town. I have been enjoying being out doors and taking advantage of the sun. In Cape Town, the vibe during the warmer months are always very joyful, relaxing and adventurous. We love to be out and about exploring different places and having fun experiences. My absolute favourite thing to do during the Summer time is going to the beach. I could stare at the sea for hours. I love the feeling of warm sand between my toes and the sea air blowing through my hair. It's one of the most wonderful feelings to me. When I saw the Bath and Body Works At The Beach collection in Qatar, my heart skipped a beat! To have the beach experience in a fragrance bottle sounds like total bliss to me. I just had to purchase it and take it back to Cape Town.

At The Beach Fine Fragrance Mist

The body mist is packaged in a beautiful 236ml sea blue plastic bottle. It reminds me of clear cyan ocean waters. It has a very tranquil and classy aquatic style to it. I love the fine touch of the gold cap as it gives a sophisticated look. The packaging is chic and serene therefore any age can appreciate it. The fragrance is described as a vacation scent with Frangipani, Coconut, Bergamot and Sea Salt as its main notes. At the first spritz the scent of frangipani and coconut definitely burst through. The white flower, frangipani is soft and sweet whereas the coconut has a fresh and tropical scent. The blend of these two aromas transports us into a paradise holiday destination. The citrus bergamot and the savoury sea salt scents are base notes that subtly seep through. They make a great combination in toning down the sweet and fruity main notes. This fragrance has a wonderful balance of sweet summer mixed with refreshing and cooling waters. I love that it is not overpowering or weak. It strikes just the right notes to make this a graceful yet fun holiday fragrance. The only gripe I have with this mist is that it is not long lasting. After a few hours the scent fades and I have to spray one or two times again. I wish Bath and Body Works made this into an actual perfume. I would be all over that fragrance as it would last longer too. If you love scents that transport you to tropical beaches and paradise destinations, then this one is for you.

At The Beach Shea & Vitamin E Shower Gel
I bought the travel size in 74ml. How I wish I purchased the full size tube. I adore this shower gel. It has a similar cyan shade to the fragrance and the consistency of the gel is perfect. It has a very moisturising feel to it and it lathers well. Thanks to the shea butter and Vitamin E, your skin will feel soft and refreshed after using it. It will refresh tired and sun kissed skin. The gel as a soft coconut beach scent but the shea butter definitely tones it down and overpowers it. The packaging is so cute too. Anything with seahorses and starfishes immediately makes my heart happy. This tube draws inspiration from the gorgeous coral reefs in design.

At The Beach 24 Hour Moisture Ultra Shea Body Cream

I too bought the body cream in the 70g travel size. How I regret this decision so much! Please remind me to always purchase full sizes at a Bath and Body Works store next time. Unlike the other products, the cream is packaged in a white tube with fun summer motifs on it. This is a lovely shea butter cream that has hints of coconut and frangipani. It is great to use after a long hot day as it moisturises and soothes the skin. I would apply this all over my body at night and I would wake in the morning smelling like a sweet fresh coconut. I love that it is not the tacky artificial coconut scent that everyone hates. This one smells like a real fresh coconut with a blend of citrus and sweet aromas. The cream as the perfect consistency for hot days. It makes the skin soft without feeling too heavy.

A Merry Diva Christmas!

It is the most wonderful time of the year indeed. I love Christmas and all the good vibes and festive cheer it brings. This year my family and I are very prepared for the upcoming day. We have done all our Christmas cleaning, hung up new golden curtains, finished all our crazy Christmas shopping and decorated the house. The only thing left to do is cook up a storm on Christmas Eve. In this blog post I decided to do a post on my top 5 favourite things for Christmas this year. And if you are wondering whether I was naughty or nice in 2016, then keeping on reading below.... ;-)

 I love getting all glammed up on Christmas day! I usually start with a gorgeous smelling body wash and lotion so the scent lingers on. I love the Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar range. It smells like Christmas indeed. For my face I love to wear my absolute favourite makeup to make me feel special. This year I will wear my number one foundation right now which is Too Faced Born This Way. For the eyes I will use the pretty Too Faced Bon Bons palette for some sparkle and shimmer. On my cheeks I will be warming them up with my Too Faced Sweethearts Peach Beach blush. I love wearing bright red lipsticks on Christmas day. My most loved is the Etude House Etoinette red lipstick. To top it off I will be spritzing the sultry Victoria's Secret Angel Gold fragrance all over my neck and decollete.

 My favourite treats for 2016 would have to be chocolates! From the gorgeous and cute packaging to the different mouth watering flavours and caramel or nougat centres. They make excellent Christmas gifts for loved ones, great for Secret Santa games and just pure indulgence to eat on your own. Big Yessss! ;-)

 Christmas music always reminds me of my late grandfather because he had a Nat King Cole carols tape (back in the day when we still had cassette tapes) that he would play and sing along with. That memory will always be a favourite of mine. Like her father, my mom adores Christmas carols too. We play an array of different Christmas songs in our house. We love rocking to Elvis, feel playful with Bing Crosby, get all cozy with Buble and feel sentimental and blessed with Il Divo. My most loved Christmas song is O holy Night.

Perfume Review

I know that I have been missing in action on the blog lately. With all the travelling I have been doing and the end of year almost drawing to a close, things have been a little hectic lately. I like to take my time in writing a blog post and bring quality content to you. I don't want to blog just for the sake of pushing posts out and they are rubbish. I know blogs like that and they are the worst! Quality above quantity will always be the motto of the day. Any way in this post I want to do a review on a lovely product I received in Qatar. My Qatari boss gifted me this beautiful Juicy Couture Gold Couture perfume to say thank you for all the hard work I did in his country there. How generous and sweet is he? If only all bosses were this generous and kind. I was so shocked by the surprising kind gesture that I think I thanked him like a 1000 times. I have always wanted to own the original Juicy Couture perfume. Everything about the brand scream 'Diva!'. To finally own a perfume from the Viva La Juicy collection is an absolute dream come true.

The Gold Couture perfume is packaged in a gold box with an intricate black rim pattern and the Viva La Juicy words embossed in bright pink. The box got a little beaten up while travelling in a suitcase by the way. If you know anything about me you will understand why I am dying for this gorgeous packaging. I mean did you see the bottle? The perfume is packaged in a gold bottle with a clear top cut like a diamond. The base has a cute black polka dot ribbon around it. The gold and pink couture motif on the bottle is the masterpiece of the whole look. Again the packaging just defines Diva Desle right there. It is glamorous, charming, fun and bold. The pink and gold colours are captivating and such a pleasure to look at. I cannot wait to display this on my desk next to my other cosmetics. I own the 50ml bottle and it feels quite heavy in my hands. The actual gold glass bottle is very sturdy and feels quite regal.

On to the scent! This one smells similar to the original Juicy Couture perfume but it is a lot warmer. The main notes are Wild Berries, Caramel and Vanilla. The base notes consist of Honeysuckle, Amber and Jasmine Sambac. On the first spritz the perfume has a deep warm scent with the amber and jasmine notes shooting through. After a few seconds the sweet caramel, vanilla and fruity wild berries start warming up on the skin. It has a mixture of a sweet, woody scent with a hint of citrus. It is very inviting and sultry. I think this perfume is perfect for a night out on the town. It's deep and sexy therefore it might be a little too overwhelming for day time. It's not a seasonal scent though, so you can wear it on hot summer nights or stormy winter nights. It lasts a fairly long time before fading after 5 hours. I like that this scent is not overbearing. It has just enough punch and charm to be captivating but not sickening. If you liked the original Juicy Couture scent you would definitely love this one.

I think this edition to Juicy Couture is super fun and flirty. Although it is sweet, it has a mature quality to it. It does not smell like a teenagers room spray, LOL. A 20 something and 40 something woman can rock this fragrance with confidence. Even the bottle packaging although fun and glam can transcend any age. It would look good on any vanity table whether a young or mature lady. I absolutely adore this packaging. It is so stunning. I definitely recommend this perfume if you like sweet and fruity scents. I love that this perfume will always have a strong and pleasant connotation for me. When I see or think of this perfume, I will remember the beauty of Qatar and the kindness and generosity of the Middle East. ;-)

This is possibly the longest blog post name I have ever had in all my life, Lol! I never blog about decor or items for the home except on the odd candle review. This week I have something very different and out of my comfort zone. I will be attempting to review some lovely decor and fragrance products for the home. I received two lovely reed diffusers by The Body Shop quite a long time ago. I personally love home fragrance diffusers as they keep your rooms smelling fresh and beautiful throughout the day. I love a good smelling home, so I always have scented candles and room sprays on hand to keep the house fragrant. The great thing about reed diffusers are that they give a subtle scent that lingers throughout the house. They last a really long time and you don't have to worry about sprays that may possibly damage fabrics. Reed Diffusers are a great way to set a gorgeous ambiance in your home depending on the fragrance you choose. The Body Shop offers up to 7 different fragrances in their reed diffuser range. I shall be reviewing two of them on the blog today. 

Each diffuser is packaged in a tall rectangular box with a pretty water painting representing the scent it holds. There are 10 reed sticks in each pack along with a vase filled with the fragrance which is held tightly closed by a rubber top. The fragrances are filled with essential oils and Community Fair Trade organically grown soya oil. This is a low maintenance diffuser that is meant to give off an ultra fine fragrance in the room. For best results, remove the rubber stopper from the vase, place all 10 reeds in the essential oils and let it soak. I like to turn the reeds around and place the dry side into the oils, so that the wet side of the reeds can work its magic in the air. The reeds then disperse a soft and beautiful scent. What I like most about The Body Shop diffusers are that the fragrances are not overpowering at all. Some household scents are too strong and can cause headaches or nausea while eating. This one is so light it's comforting and alluring at the same time.

Vanilla & Tonka Bean Reed Diffuser

 The star note in this diffuser is of cause the exotic tonka bean. Tonka Bean is well known for its aromatic fragrances. It smells similar to vanilla but with a hint of spice. This scent is very oriental and leans towards a cinnamon and amber scent with sweet vanilla. In this particular diffuser the mixing of vanilla with the spicy tonka bean gives a gorgeous sweet vanilla with a hint of spice fragrance. It's very unique and so inviting. It is a warm and welcoming scent. This would work great for a living room and bedroom. If you love vanilla scents like I do, then you will definitely love this one. I love it so much that I sometimes pick up the diffuser just to get a good whiff of the reeds. I swear it puts me in a trance. ;-)

Jasmine & White Frangipani Reed Diffuser

Jasmine is one of the most well known scents in aromatherapy and perfumery. It comes all the way from Asia and is a bright and happy fragrance. White Frangipani is a sweet and fruity scent almost tropical like. Mixing these two notes together you get a sweet, fun and feminine fragrance. To me the diffuser smells like an island and reminds me of summer. It is very lady like and might not work for a guy's bachelor flat. It would be perfect in your room or living room during hot summer days. It's stronger than the vanilla and tonka bean diffuser. It definitely gives a lot more punch.

In conclusion...

The Body Shop Reed Diffusers are a great investment for your home. They are sold at a great price and last for almost half a year. One the box it says that the fragrance lasts only for 8 weeks but my diffusers definitely lasted up to 6 months. They are a great way to keep the home smelling good and they have a classic stylish look that would look good in any decorated room. The best thing about these diffusers are that they are totally recyclable. You could fill your vase up with a new essential oil fragrance or use the vase to display flowers or anything you like. I recommend these to anyone who is looking for a budget friendly diffuser. Have you tried any of these? Let me know below!

I hardly ever do fragrance reviews on my blog. If I do, it has to be something worth mentioning about or something that is very special to me. In last week's post I mentioned one of my favourite Winter fragrances for 2016. I thought I would do a thorough review on the Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Couture as it is quite a beautiful perfume. Guerlain is a brand known for its absolute luxury and elegance. From their packaging down to the actual quality of the product, their brand is worth every penny. Yes, their products do sometimes break the bank and have your wallet crying out for mercy but if you love beautiful things like me, you won't mind saving up and splurging on the finer things in life.

I am not much of a perfume collector. I only own two perfumes right now. This beauty happens to be one of them. The packaging of the Guerlain fragrance is so exquisite. When choosing a perfume, the bottle as to be aesthetically pleasing to me. For me a perfume has to look good on the outside as well as smell great on the inside. When I splurge on something expensive the whole package needs to be appealing to me. The Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Couture does just that. It comes in a pink and white box with the stylish black evening dress printed on it. Inside the bottle design is a mix of classic and glamour all rolled into one. It has ornate curves on the top of the bottle as well as the cap. There is a pretty pink ribbon attached to it with the Guerlain logo. The black evening dress and perfume name is printed on the bottle too. Everything about this packaging is stunning, sophisticated and graceful.

The charm of the perfume is of cause in its fragrance. The main notes of this Guerlain scent is Bergamot, Rose and Raspberry. The base notes consist of  Patchouli, Tonka Bean and Vetiver. The mix of the citrusy Bergamot, fruity Raspberry, spicy Tonka Bean and woody Patchouli gives this perfume a sexy, fun yet classy tone. It strikes a wonderful balance between sweet, fruity and woody. The fragrance for me is best worn during cold months or on evenings out to complete your glamorous look while not being over the top. Once sprayed it starts out fruity but overtime softens to a sweet smell and fades into a woody scent. I love that it is not overpowering but gives enough punch to make a statement. It lasts well throughout the day and I only need to touch up at the end of the night. I adore this graceful and stylish fragrance. It really is something to cherish and behold.

If you love fruity and sweet scents then do look out for this lovely bottle in a department store near you. Definitely write it down on your birthday and Christmas wish list. Elegance will never go out of style and this 50ml pretty bottle embodies all the charm and elegance that is Guerlain. Have you tried this lovely scent? Let me know below.

So Winter is almost coming to a close in the Southern Hemisphere. I feel like Cape Town could not decide whether she wanted to be fully committed to Winter or not. There were many bitterly cold stormy days but there were also gorgeous hot sunny days too. Nevertheless I am happy that Summer is on its way because South Africans don't do Winter well. We love our sunshine! To end off the season, I thought I would do a ''things I loved'' kind of post. If you remember I usually do a ''things I have been loving this month'' blog post but I think I will wrap three months into one this time round. 

1. To start off I have to mention my favourite Winter perfume for 2016. It has to go to Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire, Eau De Parfum Couture. Long name, I know! The bottle design is absolutely stunning. The scent has floral and fruity notes with just the right amount of warmth for a lovely Winter fragrance. It is sweet and woody at the same time, giving it a sense of elegance about it.

2. Who said you cannot eat ice cream in Winter? Ice cream on cold Winter days are such a treat. I honestly feel like a rebel when I indulge in it. I recently discovered a quaint ice cream cafe right next to a hotdog stand at the Waterfront in Cape Town. They sell the most delicious toppings. So yum!

3. To keep my skin from being dull and losing that inner glow, I used the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl. I would mix a pump of it into my daily moisturiser and apply it all over my face. The results of this combo are amazing. My skin looks so radiant and youthful. When you apply your foundation over the moisturizer and highlighting combination, you literally get a lit from within look.  Read my review on the Becca product here.

4. I feel like I have drunk more Bubble tea during Winter than I have ever drunk in the Summer time. My favourite go to flavours are Rooibos tea with cranberries and blueberries, along with Rooibos tea with lemon and passion fruit. Bubble tea is refreshing and delicious. Plus it is so much fun to drink. If you haven't tried it yet, then do yourself a favour and get to a cafe now.

5. Sheet masks have been such a special treat to use during Winter. It kept my face moisturised and nourished. I love to use it at night and wake up to gorgeous flawless skin in the morning. 6. The Too Faced Peach Palette was basically the only palette I wore these past months. I love it sooooo much. There are many varieties of eyeshadows to choose from. This is a warm palette that can be worn all year round. I have been wearing a lot of the rustic brown shades during the cold months. Plus the palette smells amazing and puts me in a good mood when I use it. Favourite palette of life right now!!! Read my review on it here.

7. My favourite Winter lipstick for 2016 has to be Sephora Rouge R17 in Mmmm. I bought this lipstick at Sephora in Qatar. I love the formula of this lipstick as it is hydrating and has a semi matte finish, though it glides on like a cream. The colour is a mix between a sandy pink and lavender shade. I wear it almost everyday and it never leaves my handbag.

8. I got back into the nail art groove again, which is quite surprising since it is Winter. I usually don't do nail art in Winter because my hands are always dry and my nails go brittle and break easily. I started nourishing my hands with The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Miracle Solid Oil (review here) to save my hands from becoming crusty. It did wonders and my nails grew strong and healthy. 9. The beach or anywhere near the sea are my favourite places to hang out and enjoy life. Taking long walks on the beach or going for a run along the promenade on a sunny Winter's day is especially enjoyable for me. I swear, you could take a thousand pictures of the sea and not one will be exactly the same. There is so much beauty in the ocean and the horizon. It is just breathtaking and warms my soul!

I have no idea if the Fuji Green Tea range is a permanent line of the Body Shop or a limited edition range. I decided to do a review on it anyway because this was one of my top scents this Summer and I couldn't pass it up by not sharing it with you. The Fuji Green Tea range is inspired by the Green Tea Ceremony from Japan. This is the art and cultural performance of making green tea. The ceremony is very sophisticated, beautiful and peaceful. These qualities have all been incorporated into the Fuji Green Tea line. The light blue and mint green packaging of these products have a serene, tranquil and classic beauty as the green tea ceremony embraces. The Green Tea leaves are sourced and infused into these products from the Mount Fuji region in Japan. These leaves contain anti- oxidants to rejuvenate and create healthier and radiant skin. The whole range promises to revitalise body and mind with it's Green Tea detoxing leaves. There are about seven products in this line and I have two which are the body butter and eau de cologne.

Fuji Green Tea Eau De Cologne
This is my absolute favourite product from this range. It is a soft body spritzer described as a cologne. The notes include Green Tea, Bergamot, Lemon and Mandarin Orange with hints of Camellia, Jasmine and Violet. This is a gorgeous light citrus scent. It has a very clean and fresh smell which lasts quite a long time. It sprits on the skin pretty strong and the green tea and lemon notes initially hit your senses. After a while the fragrances calms down to a soft green tea and flowery scent. Whenever I wear this I imagine myself to be walking on the heavenly beaches of the Seychelles. I get a feeling of beauty, serenity and being transported to paradise. For me this scent is quite earthy and reminds me of being at the beach or walking in a peaceful nature reserve. I absolutely love this scent and if you are a fan of citrus and fruity fragrances this would be a perfect Summer day body cologne for you.



Fuji Green Tea Body Butter

The body butter comes in the usual 200 ml tub. It promises to give intense 24 hour dehydration and it is suitable for all skin types. The fragrance of this cream is much softer than the cologne. Upon opening the tub the scent is filled with Green Tea, Jasmine and Violet with a hint of citrus. This scent is a lot warmer and more flowery than the body spritzer. I too found that this body butter is a little lighter than the cranberry and apple body butters. It sinks quickly into the skin and it is not dense at all. This is a great summer cream that gives maximum moisture without feeling heavy on the body. Once applied and rubbed into the skin the Bergamot, Lemon and Orange Mandarin notes come through. I guess it depends on the chemistry of your skin to activate the citrus notes. This is a lovely body butter with hydration and a soft summer scent that will leave you feeling refreshed . I found that these body butters can expire or ''go off'' if exposed to excessive heat and air for too long. Be sure to store these products in a cool  place and seal the lid tightly so that the air does not contaminate the product. 

I really like this range. My favourite would definitely be the eau de cologne. I would love to try the body scrub and body sorbet if my local Body Shop store still has stock. Have you tried this range? Let me know below.

Hi Divas!

This week I want to share my Bath and Body Works haul and some mini reviews on the products with you. This post is long overdue as I have had these products for almost a whole year now and have been using them religiously. I have acquired some empty bottles in my stash too. Bath and Body Works are not available in South Africa unfortunately. When I travel overseas I love trying out new products that are not available in my country. I wanted to share this haul with you to share my favourites from the brand so that you can have a clue of what is good at a Bath and Body Works in case you travel overseas and shop at a store or the brand miraculously decides to come to South Africa. Now wouldn't that be wonderful?!  ;-)

My first impressions of a Bath and Body Works store is pure amazement. There are so many different kinds of scents, bath products, fragrances and candles on offer. I really felt like a kid at a candy store smelling and testing out all the different products. The shop is visually appealing too as everything looks so pretty and girly. I absolutely love Bath and Body works packaging. It reminds me of Christmas time when everything in store comes beautifully wrapped. On my trip I bought candles, shower gels and some body mists. I was especially excited to try the Bath and Body Works candle range has they are raved about by many YouTube Beauty bloggers. I shopped so much at the Bath and Body Works store in Qatar, they even gave me a free pink tote bag. I will put the photo up on Instagram page. Besides Sephora, this is one of my favourite stores to shop at in the Middle East.

Bath and Body Works Shower Gels

Beautiful Day: The Beautiful Day range is my absolute favourite range from the Bath and Body Works store. This shower gel has a fruity sweet scent that lingers on your skin long after you have taken a shower. It smells like Spring and Summer all rolled into one. It is truly a beautiful scent that uplifts your mood when you use it. The shower gel is very gentle and lathers well. A little goes a long way. I swear I want 10 bottles of these.

Sweet Pea: The Sweet Pea scent in the body wash does not smell anything like the fragrance mist. To me it wasn't sweet enough and smelt a little off centre. I really don't know how to explain it, but it felt like there was a fragrance note missing. It did a good job in the shower but it is nothing to go crazy about. I wouldn't purchase this shower gel again as I feel there are better scents out there in the range.



Bath and Body Works Fragrance Mists

Beautiful Day: This is my favourite fragrance of life! It has a much deeper scent than the shower gel but it  still has a fruity and sweet fragrance. The top notes are apple, pear and blackcurrant. It has a warm fruity inviting smell. It reminds me of fun summer nights. I bought a bottle for my mom too and she loves it as well. These bottles come in 236 ml, so they will last a long time.

Sweet Pea: I absolutely love this scent just as much as the Beautiful Day fragrance. It is such a pity that the Sweet Pea shower gel doesn't smell anything like this. The fragrance is light, fruity and smells like spring time. The top notes are sweet pea, water pear and black current. I got a lot of compliments when I would wear this body mist to work. These last on me all day too. They are body mists packed with a lot of punch.

Bath and Body Works Candles

Paris Amour: This is a sweet and very light floral fragrance. Top notes are strawberry, tulips and apple blossom. When I burn it, it reminds me of white open spaces with a touch of pink. It is a very clean,  feminin and pretty scent.

Dark Kiss: This is a deep and warm black current candle scent. Top notes are bergamot, blackberry, Incense and Mirabelle. It has a smokey, sweet and fruity scent to it. This would be great to burn at night in your bedroom.

Warm Vanilla Sugar: I love all things vanilla as some of you may know. This candle is beautiful, warm and very inviting. The vanilla scent is soft and not overbearing. It has just the right amount of floral and vanilla notes mixed for a perfect candle fragrance. This one is great to burn any time of the day too.

Hi Divas

This week I want to take a break from the reviews and do a fun tag. Winter is almost coming to a close in the Southern Hemisphere. I am really glad that Summer is approaching again because Cape Town has been particularly cold these last three months. I am so looking forward to the warm sunshine days, lazing around on the beach and wearing my pretty bright dresses again. What I will miss about Winter time is not worrying about whether I look fat in an outfit or not. In Winter you can wear heavy coats and big slouchy jerseys to cover up the extra bulges on the body. Lol, that is my favourite thing about Winter. I think this tag is done. Hehehe, just joking. I will be doing a random Winter tag in this post. Hope you all enjoy reading and learning a little more about me. You can answer some of the questions in the comment section below too.

1. Do you like winter?
No. I am a Summer baby. I don't like getting cold.


2. What is your fave fashion accessory for the winter season?
I love wearing different coloured scarves and textures. It really brightens up an outfit and changes the look. 


3. What is your fave winter activity?
Reading and drinking tea/coffee in my bed.


4. What is your fave winter scent?
I adore the Guerlain scent La Petite Robe Noire. It is a beautiful sweet and fruity scent that is very warm and inviting. I love the cute bottle packaging too. It is fit for a diva! ;-)


5. What is your fave winter drink?
Anything with coffee in it. I love drinking decadent lattes and Mocha cafes. Yum!


6. What is your fave winter lip colour?
I like a dark smouldering lip. Be it a dark purple, red or plum shades. My favourites are Gemma by Stila, Rapture by Urban Decay, Shanghai Express by Nars and Cinnamon Spice by Wet n' Wild.


7. What is your fave Winter holiday movie?
 I don't really have an absolute favourite Winter movie, but I do enjoy watching The Holiday and The Secret Garden with a big bowl of popcorn and my warm oversized blanket.


8. What is your fave winter blush?
Too Faced Sweethearts blush in Peach Beach is my favourite. It gives a beautiful peach and bronzy glow in the winter time. It really warms up the face.


9. What is your fave winter holiday treat?
 My bed! I rarely go away on holiday during the Winter months. I prefer being cozy in my bed.


10.What is your fave nail colour/polish for the winter season?
 I don't have a favourite Winter nail polish as I wear all my bright colours all year round. I enjoyed my leopard print manicure that I did a while back. It is dark and vampy, yet still fun to wear. I want to recreate that manicure again. It is great for Winter time.

I'm back Divas!!

 Hey girls, what's up? Hope you all had a beautiful Christmas and New Year Holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed myself eating and eating some more. I swear, I think I overdosed on chocolate and ice cream. My festive season was pretty chilled. I had a fun New Years Eve braai with my friends and watched the fireworks displays from a roof top building. I also really enjoyed taking long walks along Seapoint promenade and breathing in the fresh sea air. Most of you have probably started work already. I am still on holiday and currently enjoying a really good book. I let you know about the novel when I am done with it. I will be doing the Summer Tag this week to kick things off on my blog. 1. What is the best part of Summer time?

I love the vibe that summer brings. Everybody is happy, relaxed and in a party mood.

2. Do you tan or burn?

I tan and turn into a chocolate brown biscuit ;-)

3. Favourite Summer nail polish?

I usually wear neon pinks in Summer but this year I bought these cute pastel speckled nail polish from Tip Top. I have been loving them and wearing them non stop. The shades remind me of ice cream flavours and makes me super happy.

4. Favourite Summer drink/ beverage?

Passion Fruit and lemonade. 

5. Favourite Summer Clothing Item?

 I have been loving mini shorts this year in different colours.

6. Favourite current phone app during summer?

 I'm not really into phone apps but the one I used the most this summer was Sound Cloud to listen to all my favourite Summer jams.

7. Favourite Summer movie?

I love watching Casino Royal in the Summer time. I have no idea why. Maybe it's because Bond is in the Bahamas and then he travels to the beautiful Montenegro and Venice. You see all these stunning holiday destinations with beautiful beach sceneries.

8. Favourite Summer beauty product?

Why do tags always ask these hard questions? I can't choose one. I love everything! If I really have to choose something this year it would be fragrances. My favourite Summer perfume Burberry Summer and Sweet Pea body mist by Bath and Body Works. They are very light refreshing sweet fruity scents that make me feel beautiful and uplifts my mood.

9. Favourite Summer activity?

 Swimming, swimming and more swimming. Oh and eating tons of ice cream!

10. Favourite lip product for the Summer time?

I love wearing bright pink lipsticks during the holidays. I have been reaching for my Lime Crime lipstick in Geradium a lot lately.

Hi Divas!

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? I certainly have and must admit that this time I bought more things for myself than anyone else. Oops! I always love this time of year as it is very festive in Cape Town. I love hearing the Christmas music, seeing the beautiful lights and looking at the pretty Christmas displays. I have a confession to make though. I think I am an addict and my addiction has been coming on for a long while now. I can't get enough of The Body Shop. I am seriously addicted. I would walk past the store and I have to go in and purchase something. Their pretty packaging and lovely scents keep calling my name. This past month I took advantage of their 3 for 2 special and went full force crazy in the store. I went about three times these past weeks purchasing goodies like there is no tomorrow. I love their shower gels and body butters the most. I can't use bubble bath so I use their soap free shower gels as a lovely pampering alternative. The body butters always smell heavenly and are rich and are very moisturising.


Below is a break down of my haul....

Glazed Apple Shower Gel
This is my absolute favourite shower gel right now. It smells divine and the scent lingers on your body long after you have used it. It is so pampering and gentle on the skin. I love to use it after a very long day. It definitely soothes tired skin. 

Glazed Apple Body and Room Spray

I prefer using this as a room spray. I spritz it all over my house and the rooms smell like Christmas! It has a sweet apple scent that is very refreshing and uplifting.

Glazed Apple Body Butter

I haven't used this body butter yet since I bought a travel size and am keeping it for when I go road tripping again. I really love the smell though. It is a warm apple fragrance which is very inviting and comforting.

Vanilla Bliss Shower Gel
I love all things vanilla scented. This is a creamy body wash that is great to use every day. It lathers well and a little goes a long way.

Vanilla Brulee Body Polish

My absolute favourite body exfoliant. It has a deep vanilla fragrance and it feels like I am washing myself in a vanilla smoothie. The extracts work well in exfoliating my skin. This is a limited edition product so get your hands on it as soon as possible.

Frosted Cranberry Shower Gel (not pictured above)

The shower gel has a fruity scent and is great to use after a long day at the beach. It smells like summer for sure!

Frosted Cranberry Body Butter

This is quite a heavy body butter. I prefer to use it in the colder months when my skin needs extra moisture. It has a warm cranberry smell. This is a limited addition that they usually only sell at Christmas time. I like to stock up and keep it for the rest of the year.

Indian Night Jasmine Fragrance Mist

I bought this bottle because of the 3 for 2 offer. I wanted to try a new scent. This one smells spicy and warm just like Jasmine.

Japanese Cherry Blossom Fragrance Mist

This is my favourite fragrance mist from the Body Shop. The 10ml is a perfect size to pop in your handbag, and use it to freshen up throughout the day. It is great for flights as well. I had it in my handbag on the plane and used it in Dubai airport after a long flight.
