Pamper Sunday:
Sephora Lotus Sheet Mask Review

Hi Divas

This week I will be starting a new series on my blog with you called Pamper Sunday. On Sunday evenings I usually do all my  'me time' spa treatments. This ranges from body scrubs, to face masks and deep butter moisturises for my skin. I love using Sunday evenings as a winding down time and pamper session to get me ready for the week ahead. If you follow me on Snapchat you will know that I always share my face masks for the evening that I am using. I thought I would do something similar on my blog. This will not be a weekly post though. I will post only when I find something interesting. This week I want to share my experience with a Sephora face mask with you. This was my first time using a Sephora brand face mask so I didn't know what to expect. I do have extensive knowledge on face masks since I have used many brands from Korea. I know what kind of masks I like and what ingredients attract me the most. So let's dive into my thoughts on this one.

Firstly the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. I adore all things pink therefore I just had to purchase this particular one. I don't know about you, but I always consider the pretty and cuteness factor when I buy any product. The mask comes in two packages which I was very surprised about. The outer package is a cardboard rounded sleeve explaining what the mask is all about. I seriously felt like I was opening an invitation when I first started to unpack it. The second packaging is where the mask is stored and explains how to apply the product. This sheet mask claims to be enriched with natural lotus flower extract. Lotus flowers are known to contain Vitamins C and B with antioxidants which is very beneficial to the skin. These ingredients ensure a healthy and bright complexion. The mask also claims to lock in water for durable moisturising. It reduces the signs of fatigue and strain. The result is stress free and well rested skin. If your skin is feeling weathered, dull and tired then this mask is definitely for you.

The material and texture of the Sephora mask is very different to the Korean brands that I am used to. Korean sheet masks tend to be very light and thin in fibre while always dripping with serum. This mask has a very thick fibre and feels super durable. It will definitely not break easily when you apply it to your face. The cut of the mask is smaller than Korean masks too. It fits really snug on the face but does not reach the neck area. The serum is quite thick in texture as well. It does not run down your neck nor is there much left over serum in the packet. It says on the packaging to leave this mask on for 15 minutes. I like to go the extra mile and leave it on for 30 minutes. After the minutes have past I like to squeeze any excess serum from the mask onto my hand and pat it on my face. The actual serum is milky and quite creamy in consistency. It absorbs well into the skin and leaves my face looking visibly bright and moisturised. The next day my face still felt soft and looked plump and healthy.

Welcome to my Sexy Face!!!

Due to the ingredient list in this mask I do feel that this is a temporary pick me up and does not hold much long term benefits. When choosing a mask I like to go for ingredients like Vitamin B3 and Adenosine because they give long term benefits in reducing pigmentation thus giving a brighter complexion. They also help in the fight of anti ageing. This mask does not have any of these ingredients. I do like this mask though and will probably buy another one when I can. I like that it moisturised my face and gave a noticeable glow after using it. Have you used or tried any of these masks? I bought this one at Sephora when I was in Qatar.

Hope you found this review helpful.

  1. The Sephora Avocado Sheet Mask is fantastic - I also go the extra mile and leave it on a little longer - I make it my chill time. :) I haven't tried the Lotus one yet though - but I love sheet masks.
