Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade Review

Hi Divas!

I've got three words for you: EYEBROWS ON FLEEK!!!
That is exactly how I feel when my eyebrows are decked out in Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. I received this gorgeous product from my sister as a Christmas gift. She bought it in Ireland when she was living there. Along with the pomade she also gifted me the matching Anastasia Beverly Hills brow brush in number 20.  When I opened my present all I could do was scream: ''Yes, honey, Yes!!!'' Firstly I never in a million years thought that I would own any of the Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) products in all my life. Beauty gurus on YouTube around the world rave about this product and I actually got my hands on it. Sisters are the best! I have never used any type of gel or cream products on my eyebrows. I have always used my trusty and super affordable Essence eyebrow powder along with the clear eyebrow gel to keep everything in place. I was excited and nervous to venture into cream brow products and try something new.

The product is packed in a cute little black box that resembles a sweet or chocolate. The actual pomade is packaged in a glass jar with a screw on lid that has the beautiful ABH emblem on it. I received the shade Dark Brown out of the 11 shades on offer. The shade actually looks a little light in my pics on the blog due to the bright lightening but it is a little darker in person. It contains 4g of product and will last you a really long time as you only use a tiny amount on each eyebrow.  I love natural looking eyebrows. I detest eyebrows that look like someone took a crayon and drew large lines on your forehead. With this product that crayon effect can easily be achieved if you are very heavy handed and use too much product. If you want a natural brow look like me, start slowly and lightly. You can always increase your intensity as you build your brow. Once you start heavy it is difficult to rectify your mistake.

I usually brush out my eyebrows with the bristle part of the brush. Then with the paintbrush end, I lightly dip it into the pomade, wipe off the excess and start painting it on my brows. I use light and short strokes starting from the front and working my way towards the tail end of my brow. I have naturally thick eyebrows and don't need to draw them in. If you are someone who needs to draw a whole new eyebrow you can easily do it with the dipbrow.  The pomade is very pigmented and creamy but is firm enough to draw a brow outline without it smudging or fading. If you have thin eyebrows this brush might be a little too thick and big for you. I suggest using a smaller angled brush so that you have more control in drawing and filling in your eyebrows with precision.

The pigmentation of this product is amazing and looks very natural on the face too. They dipbrow pomade is waterproof and smudge proof and is excellent for humid climates. I did some heavy cardio exercises with my ABH brows and my sweat did not cause the eyebrows to smear or run. Another tip I have for you is to use your favourite clear brow gel to brush and hold the hairs and pomade in place. I love using the Essence clear brow gel, which works excellently. The dipbrow is great for travel and will hold up in any makeup bag. The only down side is washing the brush after use. I usually clean the brush with makeup remover and soap every 3 to 5 days to prevent massive hard product build up. To conclude the review, I definitely recommend this product and think it is a great investment to anyone who wants fierce smudge free brows!

  2. Your sister is the best! I purchased this in November (Thanksgiving), when she had a sale. You got the brush free. I just dabbled with this several weeks ago and it is AMAZING! I was afraid it would be too harsh, but it's very soft. I like it. I want to get my brows professionally done and then I'll start using it.
