Too Faced La Creme Lipstick in
Spice Spice Baby

Hi Divas!

Big YAY for lipstick reviews! As I mentioned before in a previous post I am in love with the Too Faced brand at the moment. When I was at Sephora back in February, I just had to buy me a lipstick to add to my growing collection too. I chose the shade Spice Spice Baby as I thought it would match my honey skin tone perfectly. The lipstick comes in a bright gold tube which feels a little heavier in my hand compared to most lipstick packaging. I love the beautiful classic vintage look the lipstick exudes. The packaging is timeless and gorgeous. On the box the lipstick is described as a colour drenched lip cream with conditioning properties such as moisture rich lotus flower and power peptides. It claims to give intense rich colour while keeping your lips conditioned and soft throughout the day. Most lipsticks do tend to dry out my lips so I was very excited to use a formula that would moisturise my lips and give beautiful colour.

On my first application I found the lipstick to be very creamy in texture. I decided to first line my lips with my favourite NYX lip pencil in Pinky and then apply the lipstick. If you are looking for a subtle wash of colour on the lips you can apply one or two coats of lipstick and you will have a natural flush of rose gold colour. If you want a more intense look I suggest lining your lips with a lip pencil so that the lipstick has a base that would make the shade more opaque. This would also make the lipstick last longer and less likely to bleed on the lips because the formula is so super creamy. The lipstick texture is very soft and buttery. It glides smoothly on the lips almost like a lip balm. The colour is a soft rose gold shade with slight undertones of pink. It has a glossy finish and a distinct fresh, sweet lemon scent to it.

I absolutely adore the colour and texture of this lipstick. It is great to wear every day and is super moisturising. As you can see in the picture above the shade is rosy toned but looks very natural. I love the glossy shine which makes the lips look more plump and full. The down side to this lipstick though is that it is not very long lasting on the lips. Once you have eaten or drunk anything the lipstick tends to wipe off easily. This is a real bumper, as I love drinking coffee and water throughout the day. Wearing the lipstick with a lip liner definitely helps the longevity of the colour on my lips though. The other down side to the lipstick is the creamy formula, which when left to long in the sun can seriously damage the lipstick and cause it to melt. You really have to be careful if you travel with it in your handbag and leave it too long in a heated car or if you out and about on the beach. Besides those two cons, I still really enjoy this lipstick as it leaves my lips feeling soft and moisturised throughout the day. I would definitely buy another one in the exact same shade if I ever pop into Sephora again.

Thank you so much for reading.
Lots of divalicious kisses.
Xxxx

  1. I absolutely LOVE their lipsticks! I nearly have the entire collection Desle, I just added two more that I'll be reviewing soon. That shade looks better on you than me. I've been wearing Pink Chocolate lately. I just love how well they moisturize and give off color. Awesome review. Cant wait for you to rock the Sugar Pop palette.
