Hi Divas

Last week Makeup Revolution hit South African Clicks stores with a bang! It was honestly one of the biggest surprises to hit our beauty community as the brand was launched in such a nick of time. I have watched many Youtubers using all their wonderful products but never had any experience with them until now. For those who are not aware, Makeup Revolution is a British cosmetic company which manufacturers affordable, high quality and cruelty free products. What makes this brand so revolutionary (see what I did there), is the fact that they target all areas of makeup as well as skincare and hair care too. They have a variety of complexion products, different tones of highlighters, blushes, all shades of lipsticks and tools to suite any demographic, gender and age. To me the most iconic factor about the brand is the amazing price point. All the products are super affordable but there are no exceptions on quality regarding packaging, pigmentation and lasting power. You honestly get budget friendly cosmetics with such high value. It's truly remarkable and revolutionary!

Makeup Revolution had their amazing opening event at the Clicks store in the V&A Waterfront located in Cape Town. I asked my sister the day before if she would like to be my plus 1 and accompany me. To my surprise she happily said yes and we woke up at 5:00 in the morning to skip the rush hour traffic and be on time. Truly sisters are absolutely the best! She sacrificed her sleep and her PHD work to support me as she knows what a makeup fanatic I am. The actual unveiling of the cosmetic stand within the store was wonderful. Bloggers and makeup addicts alike were all there to view and test the new products. To see all the different array of palettes, lipsticks and colours made my heart skip a beat. Once the unveiling and speeches were done we all rushed to the stand to play. The atmosphere was very exciting and inviting. There was a Revolution photo section where we could take home a memory of the morning and we too all received a lovely goodie bag at the end. My sister and I had a blast and it was so great to share this experience with her.

 As I mentioned above, I have never used Makeup Revolution before hence, I am so excited to play! I am looking forward to using the concealer, baking powder, makeup fixing spray and highlighters as I have heard so many great reviews about them. 10 Things That Made Me Happy In June

Hi Ladies!

Sorry I am so late with the blog post this week. I have been really busy and feeling a little under the weather. This week I bring to you things that made me happy this past month. I can't believe it is already July and that 50% of 2014 is already over. Eeek! ''What have you done with your life?'' That question always seems to creep up on me when it gets to this time of the year. I don't think I will judge myself too harshly I think I am doing pretty well so far. Any way here is a roundup of things that made me smile. It is always good to reflect and remember the little things that bring joy to your life. You can read my previous ''Things that made me happy'' post here.

1. On the top of my list would have to be my job. I have really loved performing on a big stage again. Singing and dancing my heart out on stage always brings me so much joy. I  feel that I was born to be a performer. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to have a career in something that I am passionate about.

2. The many perks of performing in a big show is of cause the awesome costumes and makeup that we have to wear. It is so much fun to do my makeup and go all out with the eyeshadow and glitter. The stage is the best place to play around with makeup and go a little O.T.T. Maybe I will do a Jasmine makeup tutorial on the blog. I'm still thinking about it. :-)

3. As you all I know I am a coffee freak so I have really been enjoying my hot morning brew even more on cold winter days. There is nothing like your first cup of hot coffee in the morning. I love to sit in my bed with cup and have a little 'me' time before I start getting ready for my hectic day.

4. One of my university friends had a birthday party so it was so lovely to have a get together with my university gang again. I haven't seen them for more than a year, so being in their company was so wonderful and refreshing. When we get together there is always a whole bunch of craziness going on. We forget that we are almost reaching for the 30 year old mark, and go back to the times when we were 19, young and free.

5. You know when you haven't eaten something for a very long time and when you finally do it feels like heaven in your mouth? I had that experience when I went out to dinner in Longstreet and had a massive oven baked pizza. I can't even remember the last time I had a pizza but the night I ended my pizza hunger strike I was in food bliss. That made me extremely happy, people!

6. On that note, I totally forgot how beautiful Cape Town is at night. I am mostly out during the day and appreciate my beautiful city in all its glory when the sun is shining high. What made me smile even more was remembering the hidden beauty that a city holds at night. The buildings and streets have more character. When the moon shines over Cape Town harbour or on the beach there is just so much beauty. It makes me happy to live in this city.

7. Back to superficial things... (LOL). Winter beauty sales are always so much fun. I bought so many new nail polishes and nail art goodies to experiment with. My nails have been looking pretty awesome this past month. Nail polish is one of those little things that bring so much happiness to my life.

8. Perfume has a unique way of uplifting your mood and making you feel more confident and beautiful. My gorgeous friend Sarah from Canada sent me the Prada Candy L'eau perfume and I have been wearing it every day all day. That scent just screams 'Desle!' I love it so much. It definitely puts a smile on my dial.

9. How can I forget chocolate?! Have you ladies tried the decadent Lindt White Chocolate with a touch of Vanilla? One word: Damn!!!

At the workshop I was required to fill out a multiple choice questionnaire about my personality. Once that was done I sat down and had a one on one consultation with Danny Ventura. He tallied up my scores and chose three scents that represented my personality. He sprayed each individual scent on a tester card and told me to give a colour that describes or represents the scents to me. I chose three colours, orange, red and purple. He then placed the three scents together and told me to describe a place of where I feel I am when I smell the scents. I told him I felt like I was in a beautiful sunny garden with lots of colourful flowers, balloons on a warm fun day. To my surprise those three scents made up a perfume that perfectly suits me: Elie Saab Eau De Toilette!
